Medically Supervised Detox
Safe, on-site detox for women
Withdrawal is hard — and for some substances, dangerous. At Awakenings by the Sea, women detox under 24/7 medical supervision in our accredited, women-only residential facility, then move directly into treatment without leaving our care.

Medically supervised. Women-only. On the Oregon Coast.
Our detox service is fully accredited and integrated into the same residential program where you'll continue treatment. That means no transfers, no lost momentum, and no explaining your story to a new team.
- On-site detox with 24/7 nursing and physician oversight
- Safe, comfortable withdrawal protocols tailored to each woman
- Length of stay based on medical need, not a fixed schedule
- Seamless transition into women-only residential treatment
What to expect
Every woman's detox experience is different, but the path through our program follows a clear, supportive structure.
- 1
Confidential assessment
A single phone call with our admissions team. We'll review your situation, verify insurance benefits, and determine the appropriate level of care.
- 2
Medical evaluation on admission
Our clinical team assesses your health history, substance use, withdrawal risk, and any co-occurring conditions to build a safe, individualized detox plan.
- 3
24/7 medical supervision
Nursing and physician oversight throughout withdrawal keeps you safe, comfortable, and as stable as possible during the acute phase.
- 4
Direct transition into residential treatment
Once medically stable, women move directly into our women-only residential program — no gap in care, no separate facility to coordinate.
Substances we detox from
We provide medically supervised detox for women withdrawing from a wide range of substances. If you're unsure whether we can help with your specific situation, call us — we're happy to answer confidentially.
- Alcohol
- Opioids & fentanyl
- Benzodiazepines
- Stimulants
- Prescription medications
- Other addictive substances
Why medical supervision matters
Alcohol, benzodiazepine, and opioid withdrawal can cause seizures, severe dehydration, hallucinations, or other dangerous complications. Detoxing alone or "tapering" without medical guidance can be life-threatening. Our team monitors your vital signs, manages symptoms, and responds immediately if complications arise.

Frequently asked questions
Is detox offered on-site at Awakenings by the Sea?
Yes. Detox is provided on-site at our Seaside, Oregon residential facility, with medical supervision and nursing support available around the clock.
What substances do you detox from?
We provide medically supervised detox for women withdrawing from alcohol, opioids (including fentanyl), benzodiazepines, stimulants, prescription medications, and other addictive substances.
How long does detox take?
Length of detox is individualized based on the substance, severity of use, medical history, and how your body responds. Some women need a few days; others need longer. Our clinical team monitors progress daily and adjusts care accordingly.
Do I go straight into residential treatment after detox?
Yes. Once you are medically stable, you transition directly into our women-only residential program. This continuity of care helps you build on the progress made during detox without interruption.
Is detox safe to do at home?
Detoxing from alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids can be dangerous or even life-threatening without medical supervision. We strongly recommend medically supervised detox, especially for these substances.
Will insurance cover detox?
Most major insurance plans cover medically supervised detox and residential treatment. We work with providers including Providence, Moda Health, PacificSource, Regence, Kaiser PPO, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and more. Call us for a free, confidential benefits check.
